acuvue oasys contact
j m asked:

Yesterday afternoon I went to get a routine eye exam. I wear purevision toric contacts that you can sleep in. Anyway, everything was fine with my eye, just a little bit dry the dr said. So, he suggest I try a new contact lens..Acuvue Oasys. Immediately upon putting the contact in, I felt my eye get irritated, like a scratchy something’s in there feeling. The left eye was fine though. I told the dr and he checked my eye and said it was aligned fine and nothing was in it.
Today, my eye has been red, blurry, irritated, and some discharge coming out. Of course I took the lens out. But what could have caused this? My eyes were fine before trying this new contact on.

  1. Dr. Patrick V. Suglia says:

    It could be that you are allergic to the material that the new lens is made of. Perhaps using a different brand of lens will do the trick.

  2. Salt Rooms says:

    It might have just been a very fine piece of dust stuck between the lens and your eye, or it could have been a very tiny cut in the lens or your eye.

    Doctors aren’t infallible. I’d go back if I were you so he can prescribe you some drops.

    It could be the brand.

    I used to have a similar thing happen, but ever since I stopped using that brand of lenses I’ve never had that problem.

  3. ? §.::Brendie::.§ ? says:

    It might be the problems with the brand for you. Ask the optometrist if you can try another different brand. Did you clean it properly? It might also be the problem since things like germs can still be on the lenses if not cared properly.
